Biography: 

Omar Arafat, M.D. a board-certified radiologist and former Vice-President of California Radiology Imaging Centers. He graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) with magna cum laude honors in neuroscience and then completed medical school at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine in Chicago.

After a one-year internal medicine program at St. Joseph’s Resurrection Health Care in Chicago, Dr. Arafat returned to southern California in order to be closer to his family and completed a four-year Diagnostic Radiology residency at the University of California, Irvine (UCI). While in residency Dr. Arafat served as chief resident and was awarded resident of the year honors at his graduation. Following residency he returned to UCLA to complete a one-year fellowship in abdominal imaging with additional focused training in musculoskeletal imaging.

In addition to his clinical experience, Dr. Arafat has contributed to several exhibits presented at meetings of professional medical associations, including the Radiological Society of North America. He has also contributed to articles published in Emergency Radiology, Journal of Clinical Imaging Science and American Journal of Neuroradiology. Dr. Arafat enjoys spending time with his family, has encyclopedic musical knowledge and is a health fitness enthusiast.
